2007 Wolverines Minor Atom AA - Give Back Day
Our team initiative for the 2016-17 Wolverine’s Give Back Day, was the Shoebox Project through Canadian Food for Children. The Shoebox project provides a practical way for Canadians to give back to the less fortunate over the holiday season, by filling Shoeboxes for children living in countries that have been ravaged by poverty, war, famine and/or natural disasters.
The boys first chose the gender and age category of the child they would be filling their shoeboxes for. With that in mind, they each went out to purchase appropriate items such as toys, school supplies, hygiene items, etc. They then wrapped their boxes and filled them with all of the items they chose.
The Shoeboxes were then dropped off at the warehouse facility located at 1258 Lakeshore Road in Mississauga, where they will be put into containers and shipped to one of 15 different countries.
Here are some pictures of the boys. Way to go boys!!
